It is with great satisfaction that the constructed mural READ has been installed at the Morris Book Shop. This 7 by 10 foot, 6 panel, mixed media piece has been a year in the making. Check out the video of the installation on YouTube. Thanks to Wyn Morris for supporting the arts in Lexington. Video of installation by SoSociable.
Have been making the "pages" for the books in the mural. Not very glamours work. Lots of cutting of little pieces of wood then priming and polyurathaning. One thing is for sure. I have a new appreciation of intarsia artists.
As the graphic designer for the Kentucky Horse Park I get to do many interesting projects. The Governor's Kentucky Derby poster has been one of them. It is not often a piece of graphic design is written about. This article off of Kentucky.com gives some insight to the poster. I am not credited with the design or photography for the poster but it talks about the sculpture and its creator Edwin Bogucki. Info can also be found at the Kentucky Horse Park site.
